![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: I’m continuing my monochromatic week, and this one’s NOT out of the archive. Happy Wednesday! I’ve been here before. A few times . But it’s been a long time. It was good to get out again, and I was the only person on earth. Nice. The lake/pond is completely frozen over. Those are footprints you can see to the sides of the pier. Snow-covered, of course. The sky behaved for me tonight. I like that. Oh…and this is another vertorama. The pier consists of three exposures. Same with the sky. Each set of three combined as HDR. B&W conversion done in Photomatix. Two HDRs stitched in Photoshop CS3. See the footprints ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: Music. I love music. Good music. And I get to define what “good” is. That’s the best part. Those who know me know that I have a thing for female voices. Always have, always will. Irish female voices is even better. If you were to look through my iTunes collection (just ask) you’d find some dudes in there. I just rarely listen to them. However, for the past two weeks I’ve been listening again to a guy. Granted, he’s Irish. Bono. Pre-Joshua Tree Bono. Specifically The Unforgettable Fire and more specifically Elvis Presley and America . Easily one of my all-time favorite tracks. It’s probably a good thing that the lead singer for U2 wasn’t an Irish woman. That would just be a bit too much. So go and listen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBgX6BbT628 Oh – I should tell you something about this shot. I got a bit off track there for a minute. New Year’s Day at Bridger Bay on Antelope Island, The Great Salt Lake, Utah. There was color for about 30 seconds. This shot consists of 6 exposures. Three on top, three on bottom. HDR’d both, two shots then stitched in PS3 to create the vertorama. ![]() Garrett Costanzo Photo. posted a photo: by Ziggy Marley took this last night. unfortunately i couldn’t get out today. tomorrow’s it and then i’m done. a whole year already. it’s crazy. I’ll always take the in-person view over this shot, but this is all I’ve got. This is another that I’ve held onto for a while. Time to let it go. This is Scotland. In fact, it was day #1 in Scotland, just northwest from Edinburgh. I wanted to stay here and shoot for the rest of the day, but I needed to sleep. Crazy time zone changes. I ended up parked outside of a mall, with my seat all the way back, and most likely snoring very loudly for the locals. They let me sleep in peace. One word of advice. View this one on black , then come back. ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: Look to the horizon Wide eyed, new ground Everything is different So I pack my things Listen Click To View on Black ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: FYI – I’m messing a bit with Twitter. I’ve had an account for a long time, but haven’t used it. You can find me at tr.im/sumsion_t. I try to include plenty of Nikon D90 info, links to my shots here, and always links to any of your shots that I fave. Each set of three processed in Photomatix. Resulting two stitched using Photoshop CS3. Click To Dim the Lights and then click to see large. ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: This is another view from my first day in Scotland, somewhere northwest of Edinburgh. |
