It rained the other night, which was odd. Snow everywhere and it was raining at 11PM. Today was beautiful. I wish you all a wonderful week. bigger is better ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: Culross, which is on the Firth of Fourth, has one of the oldest harbours in Scotland and was a busy harbour in the 16th – 17th centuries. On this day it wasn’t busy at all. Happy monochromatic week. Happy Wednesday! I’ve been here before. A few times . But it’s been a long time. It was good to get out again, and I was the only person on earth. Nice. The lake/pond is completely frozen over. Those are footprints you can see to the sides of the pier. Snow-covered, of course. The sky behaved for me tonight. I like that. Oh…and this is another vertorama. The pier consists of three exposures. Same with the sky. Each set of three combined as HDR. B&W conversion done in Photomatix. Two HDRs stitched in Photoshop CS3. See the footprints ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: Scotland is amazing with color and without. If you’re looking for color, you can see this concrete in a different shot here , and a bit closer to shore. This is the first time that I have processed an HDR as b&w from within Photomatix. Since I’m in my monochromatic week, I knew I needed no color. In the past I’ve just converted color to b&w later on, but I think this works better. My eyes were seeing in b&w the entire time. Large ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: Welcome to February everyone. Seems like a great time for me to start another monochromatic week. It’s been a while since I’ve left the color behind, and I may have to dig deep for some view-worthy shots. Let’s see how it goes. ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: Only 328 shopping days until Christmas! It’s February, and time again for my monthly tradition. This is the lock screen / background image on my iPhone. I create a new one each month so that I can see a calendar very quickly, without needing to unlock, open the calendar app, etc. I always choose a new image (of my own) and then overlay the current month. Since it’s helpful to me, I figured it may be helpful to others also. To make it your background: 1 – Download the original here 2 – Email the photo to your iphone 3 – Open email on iphone 4 – Save the image (hold on photo, release, save image) 5 – Open iphone Settings, click Wallpaper, select the image from your camera roll If you use it, let me know. Thanks. —- The original image used for this background, taken in Balmaha Scotland, can be viewed here . ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: I belive in them. —- I’m feeling a monochromatic week coming on again. I miss the blacks and whites. The problem is that I need to actually use my camera before I can have anything to post. Hmmm…. This, of course, is a re-do of yesterday’s upload . I almost posted this yesterday, but settled on the color instead. ![]() |sumsion| posted a photo: You are looking west at the small boat harbor in Balmaha, on the shores of Loch Lomond, Scotland. One of my favorite places on earth, and something that makes we want to get out again with my camera. I don’t know how I missed this one. When I originally processed this image I used a different bottom image. Completely dark, a few boats, kinda boring. This image uses the same sky, but has the original bottom section added. There are two shots here, taken just around 10:40PM, stitched together to form a vertorama. — Listen to Brandi sing Gone . |
